I would willingly call it the magical valley it is also known as the Kadisha or Holy Valley.
It is part of the UNESCO World Cultural heritage list since 1998 ( Qadisha valley – case No.
34 17 E36.0 ref. 850 ). The valley offers tracks varying from ±200 to 950 meters of uneven
roads reaching about 80° of inclination. Its geological formation
|
is Jurassic with a dominance of limestone. A magnificent biodiversity ( ± 18 different tree species ), spectacular
scenery and the presence of several Christian monasteries dating between the 11th and the 15th
century make of the Qannoubine ( or Kadisha ) valley a sheer wonder.
